Cortexiphan is an internet-based technical death metal band formed in November 2012, by Steven Rose (US) and Dixon Jong (Malaysia). After the first EP, they were joined by Nicolò Paracchini (Italy) on bass in December 2012 and began working on their upcoming album, Iniquitous. Since Spenser Moore replaced Blackburn I’ve frankly appreciated Inferi far more. I feel that his drumming improves the overall sound of the band a great deal, but it’s probably just a personal style preference. Either way, Of Sunless Realms was a great foreshadowing of the epic Vile Genesis.

Serious aficionado level Prog/Tech Death. The unique colors they bring to this record are not really heard elsewhere. They have forged their own sound and it’s totally badass. I guess The Faceless could be mentioned for reference of similar styles/tones. They care for the song craft as much as the tasty Tech and Leads. It really is like everyone is saying....a perfect Metal experience.
